Richard Thorn SWAc

Trips to Dartmoor with the family proved to be a source of inspiration for the young Richard. Those early images of the rugged hills and streams provided the source of his affinity with nature and landscape. After studying at Newton Abbot School of Art and a period of time in London he turned to watercolours and a career in painting in 1983.

Richard is eternally inspired by nature, constantly striving to capture its fleeting forms in all of his work. His objective is to convey the textures that exist in nature and to achieve this he incorporates a range of different media in his predominantly watercolour paintings, including acrylic, inks, pastel & pencils.
