300lb The heaviest weight in the Saunders Waterford range, will take heavy watercolour washes with minimal distortion, ideal for wet in wet techniques.

The Arches range is a 100% cotton, acid free, professional grade watercolour paper of the highest quality. Manufactured in the same French mill since 1492, Arches watercolour papers are produced on a cylinder mould with pure French stream water produce a naturally white surface containing no optical brighteners which therefore offers optimal longevity. Each sheet of Arches watercolour paper is hand inspected to ensure consistency and durability. 

Made with natural gelatin sizing both internally and externally (each sheet is permeated with an additional layer of sizing to most other similar grade papers such as Saunders Waterford, to give an extra consistency and strength). This produces a fairly hard surface which is strong enough to handle multiple washes of colour, masking fluid, scrubbing and artist tape without being easily damaged. It is a fantastic paper for traditional and experimental or mixed media watercolour techniques, and for any other wet media, and can also be used for drawing and printmaking.

NOT (Cold Pressed) – The most popular and “midddle” texture surface / HP (Hot Pressed) – The smoothest surface / Rough – The most textured.
